My story has never been straight forward.

But it has led me
to where I am today.

At the age of 29, I passed out in an operating theatre, slicing my face open and breaking my nose in the process.

As a highly stressed, highly-pressured Senior Resident in cardiothoracic surgery at one of the country’s busiest hospitals, this was my wake up call.

I needed to change my life and prioritise my own health.

I resigned on the spot.

My life would never be the same, and I was ready to take a new direction. At this point, I didn’t know what I wanted, but I knew exactly what I didn’t want. I said no to 115 hour weeks at work, fuelled by coffee and adrenaline.

And I
said yes to something new.

More than 15 years later, and my life since then has been dedicated to improving healthcare access for all, and revolutionising the way organisations look after the wellbeing of their people.

Bringing together medical expertise, technology innovations and my belief in our capacity to do better, I’m now helping rewrite the medical landscape in Australia, and around the world.

MY WHY

We’re at a point in human history where our knowledge and technological power has never been greater. Yet while we should be creating structures and opportunities for humans to thrive and enjoy long, happy lives, our health as a population is declining.

We’re faced with chronic health system shortages, and a pandemic of mental health issues, terminal illness and lifestyle-related disease.

In workplaces and communities, we’re putting out healthcare fires, without addressing the big picture.

And I know we can do better.

My ‘why’ is my mission to deliver better healthcare for all.

To democratise access to quality healthcare, and to harness technology to create smart, intuitive and preventative systems, that empower people and their employers to take a proactive, informed approach to good health.

MY JOURNEY

When I was in high school, my Dad had a major health crisis, and my mum was battling cancer. We lived in Gunnedah, a small country town in NSW, and I saw firsthand the pressures within the medical system, but also the amazing opportunity to change people’s lives as a medical practitioner

This inspired my journey to practice medicine, and I now hold triple Degrees in Medicine, Surgery and Medical Science from the University of Sydney, a Master of Occupational and Environmental Health (Monash).

Currently, I’m completing an Associate Degree in Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare at Stanford University School of Medicine.

I’m a lifelong-learner, and a natural leader, and I now realise these are my gifts. I’m committed to making the most of them.
