Letter to my Dad, My son & All of the wonderful men in my life

I need you to trade some time for me please.

❌ IT’S MEN’S HEALTH WEEK ❌

I’ve had the privilege of delivering seminars / webinars around this topic to over 17,000 men this week and I share the content here.

What I know is this:

❤️ You don’t “feel” high blood pressure. Until you’ve had a heart attack or a stroke. By then, it’s too late.
❤️ You don’t feel prostate cancer. Until it’s too late.
❤️ You don’t feel your heart arteries blocking with cholesterol. Until it’s too late.
❤️ You don’t feel bowel cancer. Until it’s too late.
❤️ You don’t feel a melanoma. Until it’s too late.
❤️ You don’t feel diabetes. Until it’s too late.

All of these things – and many others – have early markers that we Medicos look out for.

They are mostly ‘NUMBERS’ (*eg blood levels). If we see those numbers start to move away from normal ranges, we jump on it! Doing this will save your life.

Men, I’m asking you to please KNOW YOUR NUMBERS.

This takes TIME to visit your GP….

I absolutely get that we already trade time for things such as work / family / sex / sport / fun / sleep / golf / beers at the pub.

I absolutely get that it’s hard to give up time for checking things out when (a) you don’t have much of it spare and (b) you don’t feel sick.

BUT if you don’t trade time NOW to know your numbers early on in life, trust me, you’ll need MUCH MORE time available when it’s all too late.

And, you might just RUN OUT of time altogether. And that actually sucks for all of us – including me, even if I don’t know you – if the whole disaster / death was preventable.

❤️ SOOOO – please trade some time for me this Men’s Health Week.

❤️ Make an appointment with your GP and get to know your numbers.

It’s so much easier to find a GP when you’re not feeling sick than scrambling to find one when it’s too late.
